David’s Lord
Luke 20:41-44
Introduction: Jesus uses two questions to draw us back to God’s Word for instruction.
Summary Principle: Jesus Christ is equal with God and sits exalted at His right hand over all creation.
For the Children: Jesus is truly God and He reigns as Lord in heaven.
1) Jesus Challenges Expectations (v. 41)
Jesus’ question exposes false expectations.
2) Jesus Presents Biblical Truth (vv. 42-43)
Psalm 110 makes it clear that the Christ is Lord.
3) Jesus Challenges Assumptions (v. 44)
Jesus’ question unveils their sinful rebellion.
- Comfort: Jesus is truly God and man.
- Charge: Worship Jesus as the Christ—prophet, priest, and king—the only redeemer of God’s elect.
Christocentric conclusion: Jesus is not just a good man, He is God incarnate, exalted at the right hand of the Father in heaven.
