Death Swallowed
Isaiah 25:1-12
Introduction: In this marvelous passage, we learn that God is a stronghold for the needy and He will swallow death forever.
Summary Principle: We may be confident, because our salvation is assured by the LORD, Who is mighty to save.
For the Children: We may be sure that God will save us from death.
1) Praise God for His Wonderful Plans (vv. 1-5)
We must praise God for His mercy.
- Comfort: God planned our salvation before creation (cf. Ephesians 1:4)
- Charge: Trust God to protect, and bless you.
2) God Swallowed Death (vv. 6-12)
Wait upon God for Salvation (v. 9).
- Comfort: God delivered us from sin, death, and hell (Colossians 1:13ff).
- Charge: Trust God to save you.
Christocentric Conclusion: Jesus has swallowed up our death in His victory on the cross. It is finished. Our salvation is accomplished.
