Jesus Blesses the Children
Luke 18:15-17
Introduction: Jesus intercedes on behalf of the infants who were being turned away.
Summary Principle: We must not turn away God’s children.
For the Children: Come to Jesus and rejoice!
1) Disciples Interfere (v. 15)
Resist arrogance, impatience, and ignorance.
- Comfort: Christ’s kingdom has no age minimum.
- Charge: Eagerly bring children to Christ.
2) Jesus Intercedes (v. 16-17)
Submit to Christ’s leadership of His Church.
- Comfort: Christ intercedes for us continually (Hebrews 7:25).
- Charge: Rejoice that the kingdom is of grace.
Christocentric Conclusion: Jesus is the Shepherd who carries His lambs in His arms forever (cf. Psalm 28:9).
