Isaiah 29:15-24

Introduction: God’s plans are not thwarted by the evil schemes of man, nor the waywardness of His people.

Summary Principle: We must trust in God alone for restoration, redemption, and rescue.
For the Children: Trust God to make all things right.

1) God Turns Things Right Side Up (vv. 15-21)

Although man seeks many schemes, God will make all things right (Romans 8:18f; cf. Ecclesiastes 7:29).

  • Comfort: God is sovereign.
  • Charge: We must trust God’s providence.

2) God Gathers His Children (vv. 22-24)
Although we go astray, God seeks us out (cf. Psalm 119:176).

  • Comfort: God is faithful (II Timothy 2:13).
  • Charge: We must trust God’s promises.

Christocentric Conclusion: Jesus Christ is the Messiah who came and gave sight to the blind. He gathered together the wandering sheep and brought them salvation in His sacrifice on their behalf.
