The Destroyer
Isaiah 33:1-24
Introduction: Isaiah gives us a picture of the true King and what He does for His people.
Summary Principle: We must trust in the LORD and lay our burden upon Him (Psalm 55:22), for He is our strong right arm and our salvation.
For the Children: Trust in the LORD and He will save you.
1) The LORD is our Salvation (vv. 1-12)
The LORD saves from oppression.
- Comfort: The LORD is our stability (v. 6).
- Charge: Wait upon the LORD.
2) The LORD is our King (vv. 13-24)
The LORD forgives iniquity.
- Comfort: The LORD is for us (v. 21).
- Charge: Seek a dwelling with the LORD (v. 16f).
Christocentric conclusion: Jesus is the King who came and gave bread and water to His people His is our salvation and our sure defense. We must continually trust in Him.
