Stubborn Children
Isaiah 30:1-33
Introduction: Isaiah calls out the stubborn and rebellious behavior of Judah.
Summary Principle: Place your trust in God alone to save you.
For the Children: Trust that God can save you from any danger.
1) Stubborn and Rebellious People (vv. 1-14)
Listen to the Word of God.
- Comfort: God loves His people and instructs them in truth.
- Charge: Heed God’s warnings and obey His commands.
2) Salvation, Grace, and Healing (vv. 15-26)
Turn to the LORD.
- Comfort: God loves His people and calls them to repentance.
- Charge: Repent of sin and rest in God’s promises.
3) Song of Gladness (vv. 27-33)
Rejoice at the LORD’s salvation.
- Comfort: God loves His people and delivers them from their enemies.
- Charge: Rejoice when the Lord brings deliverance.
Christocentric conclusion: There is no other name by which we shall be saved than Jesus Christ, our Lord. Let us not trust in anything else.
