Jesus Weeps for Zion
Luke 19:41-44
Introduction: God calls all people to repent and believe, but this message of life is also a message of death (cf. 2 Corinthians 2:16).
Summary Principle: Those who reject Christ will be condemned.
For the Children: Seek Jesus as your Savior.
1) Jerusalem Rejects the Prince of Peace (vv. 41-42)
Rejecting Jesus is rejecting peace.
- Comfort: Jesus gives peace to those who seek Him.
- Charge: Seek peace in Jesus.
2) Jerusalem Destroyed (vv. 43-44)
Those who reject Jesus will be condemned.
- Comfort: There is no condemnation for those in Christ (Romans 8:1).
- Charge: Recognize your need for Jesus.
Christocentric conclusion: Jesus Christ came as the Prince of Peace. Do not reject the peace He brings for your own form of peace. Come to Him and find life everlasting and perfect peace.
