The Righteous King

Isaiah 32:1-20

Introduction: God promises to send a righteous King to reign and to pour out His Spirit from on high.

Summary Principle: God calls us to repentance with the promise of salvation if we do.

For the Children: Be sorry for your sin and trust in Jesus.

 

1) A Righteous King Reigns (vv. 1-8)

Jesus is a refuge.

  • Comfort: God sent a Righteous King to reign (v. 1).
  • Charge: Take refuge in Jesus.

 

2) Complacent Women Warned (vv. 9-20)

God calls the complacent to repent.

  • Comfort: God poured out His Spirit (v. 15).
  • Charge: Hear the warning, repent, and find peace.

 

Christocentric conclusion: Jesus is the righteous King who came to call us out of our complacency and bring us peace. In Him we have a refuge and a hiding place. Let us mourn our sin and come to Him for salvation.
