Temple Cleansing

Luke 19:45-48

Introduction: Jesus is zealous for His Father’s house and demonstrates His authority by driving out the sellers and teaching daily.

Summary Principle: God calls us to His presence to pray and to receive instruction.

For the Children: Expect to pray and listen in worship.

 

 

1) A House of Prayer (vv. 45-46)

God’s house should be filled with prayer.

  • Comfort: God wants to hear us.
  • Charge: Be prepared to pray in worship.

 

 

2) A House of Preaching (vv. 47-48)

God’s house should be a place of biblical preaching.

  • Comfort: God speaks to us.
  • Charge: Be prepared to listen in worship.

 

Christocentric conclusion: Jesus teaches us that the house of God should be a place of prayer and instruction from the Word of God.
